FOUNDER OF THE PERSIAN EMPIRE

Cyrus the Great, was the liberator of the Jews, the father of human rights, the only non-Jewish Messiah in the Old Testament and the founder of the Persian Empire. Brilliant at military strategy, Cyrus defeated the king of the Medes, then united all of the Iranian tribes. His army was skilled at fighting on horseback.

2500 years before Neo, Prince of Persia and other Messianic figures in film, Cyrus was the original ONE.

His thoughts and ideas were born of such spirituality that he is seen by many as having been an instrument of god and presented as such in many religious books, including the old testament and the Koran.

FATHER OF HUMAN RIGHTS

Cyrus was one of the most benevolent rulers of all time. In 539 B.C., Cyrus and his armies conquered the city of Babylon. He freed the slaves, decreed that all people had the right to choose their own religion and established racial equality, marking the first major advancement for humankind.

These and other declarations were preserved on a baked-clay cylinder in the Akkadian language with cuneiform script. Known as the Cyrus Cylinder, this ancient record has now been recognized as the world’s first charter of human rights. It is translated into all six official languages of the United Nations and its provisions parallel the first four Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

A Surprisingly Entertaining Take on History (the likes of 300)

Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2020

This is very much like 300 by Ralph Snyder in the sense that it is a fantasy take on historical events. If you appreciate 300 then you may appreciate this. It's a story of a prince whose grandfather order him killed but he was saved by the general who supposed to do it. The order given was due to racial prejudice. From there he is raised by wolves and peasants until his return, at which point the story really kicks in.

Lets just says it's brutal; Game of Thrones brutal, Spartacus brutal. But it also has the intelligence to go with it.

I found the experimentation with the art direction interesting and in many cases it works.

Give this graphic novel is most definitely a well crafted gem.
